I experiment with conceptual ideas and commentary on the natural world by manipulating material to create quirky lighthearted structures that are easily approachable. In 2013 Sculpture Key West sponsored my installation and used my sculpture of repurposed hammocks as their press image in ArtNews Magazine (February 2013) and in The Brooklyn Rail Newspaper (color centerfold) (Dec12/Jan13).I have exhibited works in museums, art-parks and other public venues and have received numerous grants and awards (NYSCA, NYFA SOS, JPMorgan Artist Grants, etc), as well as private and public art commissions. My first permanent outdoor public artwork is installed in the Ann Frank Garden at Arboretum Park, Dix Hills NY. I also am an art department faculty member at USDAN Center for Visual and Performing Arts teaching ceramics and firing two large gas kilns. I received my BFA from SUNY Purchase College and my MFA from CUNY Queens College 2012.
