The Residency and Studio
The studio consists of a one main building that houses six existing permanent studios used by sculptors from other countries such as the USA, UK, Argentina, Germany and the Netherlands.
Your project type will determine what studio space will be available to you, for example; all marble work is performed outside in a variety of covered studio locations to control the amount of dust produced. For the other types of projects studio space will be made available in the main building.
Successful applicants who decide to undertake marble work will be expected to have prior experience and knowledge of how to use the provided tools and much of this is about personal safety.
On arrival at the studio, an introductory meeting will take place where information and rules of studio operation will be provided.
Artist Responsibilities
Successful applicant will be responsible to maintain the safety and security of the provided studio space and respect of all other sculptors working in the building.
Successful applicant must carry their own travel insurance. The Sculptors Guild will not be responsible for any situation that may arise, this is the sole responsibility of the applicant.
All transport to and from Pietrasanta and return is the sole responsibility of the applicant and not the Sculptors Guild.
The Sculptors Guild will provide as much information prior to leaving on your residency so no time is wasted once arriving at the studio.
Please email questions to sculptorsguildsubmissions@gmail.com and not the main guild email address.
